About

Ardgartan Trail Race 2027 is a challenging foot race of around 21 miles, set within the varied terrain of Ardgartan Forest Park. The course is around 90% off road, bringing together forestry trails, short tarmac sections and an open hill crossing.

Runners follow a loop around the Ardgartan Peninsula, heading towards Lochgoilhead before climbing back towards the Rest And Be Thankful. A final downhill section leads to the finish, with hills and waterfalls forming part of the route experience.

Two water stations are planned at approximately seven and 13 miles, primarily for safety in potentially poor winter conditions. Mandatory kit will be required, with full requirements issued in the race briefing before the event. The route may be amended if winter storm damage affects the forest.

Parking at Ardgartan Car Park is limited, so runners are asked to car share where possible. The event is run under an Association of Running Clubs licence.
