About
A full programme of traditional competition and spectacle brings together piping, Highland dancing, track and field and heavyweight contests at Inveraray Highland Games 2027.
The Games celebrate Highland culture and heritage through a varied day of events. Highland dancing competitions feature alongside solo piping, while pipe bands perform crowd-pleasing favourites. Visitors can also follow light events including running, cycling, long jump, high jump and wrestling.
Heavy events include hammer throw, weight throw, weight over the bar and stone putt. The World Caber Tossing Championship is due to be contested at Inveraray, adding a distinctive focal point to the day’s sporting programme.
The day begins with a Pipe Band parade from the town to the Games field. Alongside the competitions, visitors will find local Scottish food and drink stands, plus trade and charity stalls. It is a chance to experience established Highland games traditions in the grounds of Inveraray Castle.
