About

The first Luss Highland Gathering took place in 1875, founded by local farmers and sportsmen. Early visitors travelled from the surrounding glens on foot, horseback and in farm carts, gathering around the sports field for a day of competition.

Caber tossing, hammer throwing and hill races form part of the Games’ established traditions, alongside piping and Highland dancing. The gathering has retained its local character over generations, while its connection with Clan Colquhoun draws people from further afield to explore their family heritage.
