About
Created in 2013 by experienced West Highland Way racers, this event welcomes runners, jog-walkers and steady walkers alongside seasoned ultra competitors. It is designed as a supported challenge, allowing entrants to tackle the route with or without their own support team.
The race covers 96 miles and around 14,700 feet of ascent, following the West Highland Way from Fort William to Milngavie. Checkpoint cut-off times are based on an average speed of 2.7mph, with 35 hours allowed for the standard course and 37 hours for early starts.
Race support includes food and drink at nine locations, transport to the Milngavie finish for those withdrawing at designated points and the movement of entrants’ drop bags. The event is intended to offer a practical, inclusive way to take on a substantial trail-running or walking challenge.
